Prof. Dr. Md. Atiqul Islam completed MBBS from Sir Salimullah Medical College in 1994. He completed two years of surgery training at Rajshahi Medical College and passed FCPS (Surgery) in January 2002.

He served at Sir Salimullah Medical College & Mitford Hospital from 2002 to 2005 as resident Surgeon, where he actively participated in emergency and routine surgical operations.

In 2005, he was promoted to Assistant Professor and served until 2023 at Sir Salimullah Medical College and Satkhira Medical College. During this time, he performed various open and laparoscopic procedures and contributed significantly to academic activities.

In 2023, he was promoted to Associate Professor (Surgery). He is currently serving as Professor (Surgery) at Sir Salimullah Medical College & Mitford Hospital, playing a vital role in academic and surgical advancements.
