Professor (Dr.) Khondker Abdul Awal Rizvi graduated from Dhaka Medical College in 1978. And did his MS (Ortho) in 1988. He worked at Princess Margaret Rose Orthopaedic Hospital as visiting-fellow from 1994 to 1996. He obtained FCPS from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2011.

Professor (Dr.) Khondker Abdul Awal Rizvi started govt service as Officer at Iswarganj Upazila Health Complex. He served as Assistant Registrar, Registrar at Dhaka Medical College & Hospital. And served as CA, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor and Director at National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR). He also served as Professor at Sir Salimullah Medical College & Mitford Hospital for a brief period.

Professor (Dr.) Khondker Abdul Awal Rizvi is the past President and Secretary of Bangladesh Orthopaedic Society. And founder President of Bangladesh Spine Society. He is President of National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh.
