Professor (Dr.) Md. Quddusur Rahman graduated from Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital, Barisal in 1982. In 1984 he joined government service at Thana Health Complex Tazumuddin, Bhola as Medical Officer. In 1991 he completed his M.Phil in Pathology from BSMMU the then IPGM&R (Institute of Post-graduate Medicine and Research) under Dhaka University.

Professor (Dr.) Md. Quddusur Rahman works as Assistant Professor in Laboratory Medicine Department at Institute of Child and Mother Health (ICMH) from 1994 to 2003. In 2003 he joined as Associate Professor in Clinical Pathology at Bangladesh Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka. He was promoted to Professor of Laboratory Medicine in 2012 and served as Professor till 2023. He was Professor & Chairman of the Department of Laboratory Medicine at Bangladesh Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) from 2015 to 2018.
