Dr. Mafruha Akter

Dr. Mafruha Akter is a compassionate and experienced hematologist and bone marrow transplant (BMT) physician in Bangladesh. She is an Associate Professor of Hematology & BMT department in Dhaka Medical College.

She was graduated from DMC in 2003 and later completed her post-graduation FCPS in Hematology from BCPS in 2014. She was trained in BMT at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Boston USA.

She has successfully performed more than 50 BMT procedures and has years of experience in treating hematological malignancies. Her special interest is in Leukemia Lymphoma, Myeloma and Thalassemia. She is an author of ample number of publications in international and national journals. She is involved as a member of APBMT (Bangladesh Pacific Blood & Marrow Transplant Group), ASH (American Society of Hematology), and HSB (Hematology Society of Bangladesh).

She has expertise in different chemo and immunotherapy. She regularly performs BMS and trephine biopsy, lumbar puncture, and intrathecal chemotherapy at this hospital.

She is an eminent speaker on both national and international scientific platforms.
